The Wedding Stylist

I wish I had interesting things to post about. Like exciting trips or funny stories or just generally anything that would be more interesting than what I'm actually going to post about, which isn't even interesting to me, and it's my life.

So today, I almost drowned in tulle. Tulle is that thin net-like material that veils are made of. The really soft, princess-y stuff. NOT to be confused with dress net, which is what can be found under dresses. I need two layers of the stuff at least on the skirt, and with the train included, I brought 15m. Today, as I was trying to cut it out, I realised that the material is actually twice as wide as I thought it was, as it was doubled over on the roll. So I basically have twice as much as I actually needed. But that's okay, better than not enough, and if we decide we need an extra layer, we're sorted.

Now I need to figure out how to finish the seams. Overlocking isn't an option, as its far too obvious. The seams won't fray, I just don't feel comfortable leaving them raw. It's not right. But I think its my only option, so I think tomorrow will be spent re stitching the seams so they're double strength and then tacking to the satin skirt. Hopefully the boning will come soon, and then everything will be coming along nicely for when my sister comes up over easter.

Speaking of Easter, I have to take my future brother in law shopping for his bridal suit. What with the bride, bridesmaids, now the groom and most likely groomsmen, and probably advice given to my mother and grandmothers, if they come, I'm basically styling this whole wedding.
