So I’ve just found out that SBS is releasing a Korean remake of Zettai Kareshi, and I am very confused. I am simultaneously excited and heartbroken.
The Japanese version was one of the first dramas that I really loved, and certainly the first to have a lasting impact on me. Even just looking it up on Instagram threw up an absolutely devastating screen cap and I wasn’t prepared for. My heart dropped and my eyes started to prick with tears. This blog tells me that the manga had a similar effect. I had forgotten how sad it was - or maybe I’d blocked it from my memory. Poor Night ...
However, it was also 8 years ago, and Zettai Kareshi was only the second drama that I watched. I have watched 100-odd other dramas since then. Yes it made me cry, but I never even considered it for a spot in my top 5 Asian dramas. I never considered any Japanese drama to be honest, and that’s probably because, with the exception of Buzzer Beat, the barbie kisses were just too lame.
I’m definitely going to check out the new Korean version though. I just hope they do it justice.
In other news, while trying to find if I wrote about the original Japanese version in this blog, or whether it predates my reviews (it does), I found a post called How To Find Love (According to Asian Drama), which I think totally deserves a part two. The 2012 version basically requires you to be an antisocial and scary cross-dressing high schooler. Cool. That’ll be why I’m still single then.

Easter
I get so excited about Easter, but it is very much one of those occasions where my eyes are bigger than my stomach. It’s all very well to plan to eat all your Easter chocolate by Easter Monday, but much more difficult in practice. I still have one and a half eggs and two creme eggs, four twirls and I don’t know how many Lindors left over.
What’s worse is that I can feel my skin starting to react again and I can only assume it’s all the chocolate. It’s all fun and games until it starts to show on the outside.
Some people would give it away, or maybe even throw it away, but not me. I just try to eat it all as quickly as possible to get it out of the way. Which then results in me feeling sick. I think rather than diet starts Tuesday, it’s just going to have to be diet starts when I get home instead. It’s so much easier to be healthy at home, I eat all sorts here that I never touch at home. Namely bread.
I’m starting to feel sleepy so I think it’s best that I finish this here, before the sleep posting starts to set in.

Today didn't happen
Today, the being-healthy plan went completely to pot.
My sister went into hospital this morning, and I was pretty much fine with it. Sure, I was concerned, but I knew it wasn't anything life threatening and that she would be fine. It was only when I heard that she was being readied to go into theatre that I freaked out.
I'm not really sure why; I still know that it isn't really anything to be worrying about, but for some reason, right in the middle of lunch and Neighbours, I had a super hard time not bursting into tears. I think my hormones are just in overdrive at the moment.
Unfortunately, the only way I know how to deal with freak outs is by eating copious amounts of crap, and as a good friend should, I dragged Inki down with me. Having said that, we were reasonably tame in terms of unhealthiness. We even ended up in the fruit aisle, even though obviously we didn't get anything.
So I may have sabotaged both Inki and myself diet wise, but I still did my 5 min hula hoop session while listening to Big Bang's Fantastic Baby (even if i did only work of like 5 potato hoop snacks) and drank a litre of water. I basically did everything like normal and just ate a lot more chocolate, bread and potato based product than I would normally allow myself. A lot more.
My sister is fine, by the way. I'm just trying to resist the urge to rush down until I know whether I'm wanted or not.
