Bad Boy

I got my Remington pearl curling wand today! :)
I burned myself. :(

It came in a huge box, completely disproportionate to the size of the wand, and when my dad brought it to me, he said 'Your buttons?'.  Idiot.

So far I'm impressed. It seemed to hold the curl quite well and I didn't use any product. I even straightened my hair and then curled it, and a good few hours later I am left with gentle waves, so it has some staying power. Its my own fault for getting burned though. I was just mentally scoffing at the reviews by people who had burned themselves, thinking how hard must it be to not put your hand on the hot thing, when I put my hand on the hot thing. Idiot.

I also started reading 50 Shades of Grey. Maybe I'm bandwaggonning a little, but seeing as everyone is making such a huge fuss I thought I'd give it a go. In the first two chapters I couldn't help but think it was Twilight for grown ups. Clumsy, plain and inexperienced narrator, works in a family run hardware store (close enough), has an erratic, harebrained mother. Meets perfection personified and is completely consumed.

The only difference was Edward wanted to sink his teeth into Bella ... Christian wants to sink something else into Ana.

So far, not overly impressed. I can't say I have found any of the characters particularly likable or intriguing (Ana is positively Mary Jane) and the writing seems to throw in a few big words to appear more intelligent. It doesn't have the unputdownable factor for me yet, and while I get that the whole smutty thing is pretty shocking for a lot of people, it really isn't anything to write home about (odd turn of phrase in this case, I know). Right now, I think I could find something just as good on a fanfic site, let alone for free on itunes. Having said that, chronologically I am only up to chapter 3 ... although I may have skipped a head a little ... so I shouldn't judge too harshly.

Intoxication

Aish! I've gotten really rubbish at posting every day over these last few weeks.

Granted, sometimes I have valid reasons, such as the hen night, or the wedding weekend, but the rest of the time it literally doesn't cross my mind until the next morning, or even a couple of evenings after.

Bad blogger.

The hen night was awesome. We pratted around in a posh hotel, ate a posh meal ... and then went t' pub. I am mostly proud of myself for drinking cocktails, wine and disaranno through out the night WITHOUT throwing up. Maybe, finally, I am capable of getting drunk without vomiting first! Not that this is particularly a good thing. I always forget how shitty alcohol makes you feel about yourself after you have gotten past the happy tipsy phase.  

*COUGH* It also makes you kiss boys you have absolutely no interest in just 'cos your friends told you that you had to ... although it was mostly because the guy told you it was the price of a drink. *COUGH*  Hmmmmm ... what?

Somehow, I ended up with more alcohol in the boot of my car the next day than I arrived with. My friends and I then pushed my car around the car park for a bit, because we're cool and that's just how we roll.

Ummm ... I feel like this is a very alcohol centred post.

Don't drink, kids.

It's highly overrated.

Get high on sugar instead. It doesn't come with a hangover.

P.S. In other news, I am literally constantly singing Monster by Big Bang at the moment ... but only the last line ... repeatedly. So, if you hear me doing so, don't worry, it is not a hint.

P.P.S. I love how you search Monster on YouTube and Big Bang comes up before Kanye or Gaga. See how kpop is spreading?! It's a shame its a ... umm lets just say strange ... video though. I'll stick with Fantastic Baby.

Blue

Another iPhone post. This time, my laptop decided to turn itself off, and I can't turn it back on until it's completely cooled down. Sigh. I was trying to finish the episode I was attempting to watch last night as well. I've ran out of thread again, so now I am at a bit of a standstill until the thread I ordered comes in. Lucky the weekend is nearly here. I just can't get over how I've used nearly 2km in 3 days. I'm still feeling so totally drained, and I'm not sure why. Lucky the weekend is nearly here. In other news, I got a new perfume today. It's Yves Saint Laurent 'Elle'. I was torn between it and Givenchy's 'very Irresistable' but the more citrusy scent won out. That makes my second YSL fragrance ... Guess I'm a YSL girl. <3 x

Baby Don't Cry

I was watching the EXO showcase earlier, (yes ... after a million and one teasers, and two 'prequel' singles, they are actually debuting... maybe... it could be a 'prequel' album) and while they were reviewing the teasers, I noticed one of the songs was called 'Baby Don't Cry'.

Big Bang have a song of the same name, as do U-Kiss.

Apparently, so does 2Pac, but I am less interested in him, even if he is dead now.

Maybe Exo think having a song with that title is some sort of success talisman. I think being a part of SMtown is enough of a good luck charm.

I'm not really sure where I was going with this. It's just something that I thought I would write about, but now having made my point, I am left with a rather pathetic looking post. It came out better in my head.

Interestingly enough, 2Pac's version is 'Baby Don't Cry (Keep Your Head Up)'. This post was very nearly 'Why? (Keep Your Head Down)'. Well, its interesting to me, because I know what game I'm playing.

In other news, I found videos today of Heechul being Heechul while serving his mandatory military service. He is a DJ at the district office in which he is stationed. He was dancing to SHINee's Sherlock and it made me happy.

Love Dust

When you write a word so many times, you start to doubt you have spelt it right. Although, interestingly enough, I have written 'love' more, and yet it is 'dust' that looks wrong.

Just to clarify, I do not love dust, any more than I love love, change and hate.

In fact, if anything, I dislike love, change, hate and dust.

Wow...

Big Bang are one of the most popular Korean bands out there. They not long ago beat the likes o Britney Spears to become MTV's Best World Wide Act, so their popularity is by no means limited to Korea, or even Asia.

I posted about them a while ago, having falling in love with their song 'Love Song'. I soon after became a huge fan of 'Stupid Liar'. But between me finding out about them and now, they weren't really active, other than a few scandals.

Then came 'Blue'.

It was pretty good. I played it a few times and haven't really felt the need to do so again.

Then there was 'Bad Boy'.

It was awesome. I played it a few times and for the next week, it was pretty much constantly in my head ... until ...

'Fantastic Baby'.

Wow. Fantastic Baby.

Its another one of those songs that on first hearing doesn't mean that much, but slowly grows and grows in your mind until it consumes you. Like Lucifer. You find yourself playing the MV on a daily basis, sometimes even multiple times a day, on repeat. I'm not sure why I like it so much. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with a load of topless men, especially not the blond one (Daesung, I think). I really like TOP's first bit, when he's in the picture frames. He's the one with blue hair, which is strangely enough not the weirdest style here *looks at GDragon *wonders how missed it in Blue and Bad Boy*.
I'm a huge fan of the moment when Taeyang (with all the tattoos) is standing in front of the fence. He looks up and they cut away to the next shot just a frame too early, so you see him start to move in to his next part. It's at about 2.42 and I know its so tiny most people wouldn't notice it, but to me it sticks out like a sore thumb.
