Mumbler

So today, I played wedding stylist.

This basically consisted of me going suit shopping with my future brother in law, trying to find a style that he, his groomsmen and my sister will all like, without any help from the bride, the groomsmen or much clue from the groom.

You see, like how the groom isn't suppposed to know what the bride is wearing, my sister also doesn't want to know what her husband to be will be wearing. So that's where I come in. Wedding Stylist.

The only thing I have to go with is Babel by Mumford and Sons, and mis-match.

It was reasonably successful. I'm quite keen to get gingham ties in there somewhere.

The groom didn't seem quite so sure.

A test

I'm starting this post now because it is 1am and I have decided that now would be a good time to watch an episode of Rooftop Prince.

I strongly suspect I will fall asleep.

Regardless, I am posting this and then I can finish it in edit. Hopefully in an hour, but most likely in the morning.

Yeah ... so I fell asleep. I got half way through the episode, but then decided that lying down would be a good idea, and that never works out well.

I finally went to buy my easter eggs yesterday. I shouldnt have left it so late, there was pretty much only Green and Blacks and One Direction left, and noone wants a One Direction anything, let alone an egg with their faces on. Luckily, my mum felt better enough to get her own and my Gran's, so maybe she went to another supermarket and had better luck.

HINT FOR NEXT YEAR - buy Easter eggs before Good Friday.

Help Me, Blob!

As one does, I turned to google for help writing this post.

More inspiration, and more my previous searches on my google search bar.

I then decided to post random pictures from google images of the two searches that amused me most ... out of the 20 that I looked at because I google a lot and I couldn't be bothered to look through my past searches any more.

1) HELP ME

2) BLOB

I have no idea why I originally googled these things. I imagine HELP ME was rhetorical, but I couldn't resist kitties and a Star Wars reference. If any one is interested, I know how to do that towel doughnut thing. I don't know what I expected to find with BLOB, but I'm pretty content with this rainbow guy. He's so cute!

Pictures in posts are nice. I should do this more often.

Housewife

I didn't end up getting my own Easter eggs today.

Instead, I spent the whole day cleaning the house ready to bring my mum back from hospital. I thought my dad was doing the same, but apparently he did the vacuuming and then had a sit down. So the kitchen and bathrooms were spotless, but the rest of the house just had very clean floors and things hastily piled.

You know, cleaning the oven is horrible. You can keep the shelves clean easily enough, but the sides are a bitch, especially when there are brackets and none removable stuff in the way. And its brown and messy. And oven cleaner always smells like oven cleaner. I had to burn a fluffy towels candle for an hour to get rid of the smell, and then it came back as soon as I opened the oven again.

How housewife-y do I sound?? Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I made a really good pasta bake for dinner.

I love pasta. If I had to choose between pasta and potatoes, I honestly don't know which would win. Probably potatoes because they use them to make doughnuts. As far as I know, you don't need pasta to make anything sweet and tasty.

I'm talking crap again. I should stop.

Wednesday 27 March 2013

Bournville in my blood

So tomorrow, I have to go shopping for my own Easter eggs ... on behalf of two different people.

Doesn't that seem a little pathetic?

Although, it does mean I get to choose the good ones, make sure that nothing but Cadbury manages to sneak through.

Can't be doing with non-cadbury chocolate.

It's unpatriotic.

Tuesday 26 March 2013

Diversify

So hospitals have shops now.

Coffee shops I can understand. A news stand or gift shop seems fair enough.

But Boots?

Julian Graves?

Even a stall covered in handbags and jewellery??

I walked into a hospital and thought I had ended up in a shopping mall.

The Wedding Stylist

I wish I had interesting things to post about. Like exciting trips or funny stories or just generally anything that would be more interesting than what I'm actually going to post about, which isn't even interesting to me, and it's my life.

So today, I almost drowned in tulle. Tulle is that thin net-like material that veils are made of. The really soft, princess-y stuff. NOT to be confused with dress net, which is what can be found under dresses. I need two layers of the stuff at least on the skirt, and with the train included, I brought 15m. Today, as I was trying to cut it out, I realised that the material is actually twice as wide as I thought it was, as it was doubled over on the roll. So I basically have twice as much as I actually needed. But that's okay, better than not enough, and if we decide we need an extra layer, we're sorted.

Now I need to figure out how to finish the seams. Overlocking isn't an option, as its far too obvious. The seams won't fray, I just don't feel comfortable leaving them raw. It's not right. But I think its my only option, so I think tomorrow will be spent re stitching the seams so they're double strength and then tacking to the satin skirt. Hopefully the boning will come soon, and then everything will be coming along nicely for when my sister comes up over easter.

Speaking of Easter, I have to take my future brother in law shopping for his bridal suit. What with the bride, bridesmaids, now the groom and most likely groomsmen, and probably advice given to my mother and grandmothers, if they come, I'm basically styling this whole wedding.

Sunday 24 March 2013

Lying Down means Sleep

Okay, so late last night I was watching Rooftop Prince, which is really good by the way, when I realised I was a little chilly so decided to snuggle down into my bed.

At 4 am, I woke up with my light, make up and glasses still on. I decided blogging wouldn't be the best idea at that point.

So instead, I'm blogging about how I didn't blog. Yup.

Yesterday was nice, just had a day in watching films with the girls. We don't really do stuff at weekends so it was good to be able to see them in the day light for once. The snow was ridiculous though, and everything would have been fine if only our roads were like all the others roads. But no. I even got stuck outside the Chankins residence. For some reason the snow was about 3 inches deeper there than everywhere else, and I couldn't even get up the drive. At one point, I couldn't go backwards or forwards, so that was just peachy.

In other news, I need to stop eating so much chocolate. It will be a lot easier when they stop selling Easter eggs.

Saturday 23 March 2013

Effing Snow

Lalala writing a blog post.

I have no idea what to write about.

Maybe about how I find it really hard to find the motivation to work on my sisters wedding dress when I've already been working at school that day. Which is pathetic, because the latest I finish is 2, but then by the time I get home and have some lunch, it's getting on to half 3 and feels too late to start.

But then there was today. Finish at 11, so the perfect time to start working, but it only effing snowed! I have to go outside to get into my work room, and then wait for the heater to kick in so I don't freeze to the fabric. Not exactly the most inviting and motivational location.

So instead I got into bed and proof read an essay ... for 6 hours.

Friday 22 March 2013

Housewife

My mother is still a Zombie, so today, after school, I became a housewife.

I did the food shopping, cooked the dinner, cleaned the kitchen, got a headache and nagged my father.

Not that it's much different that normal really, except I got a war wound. I was getting my tart out of the oven and accidentally brushed my hand on the shelf. So now I have a nice red mark on my hand.

When I was out shopping, I brought a new surface cleaning spray. We did have the fabreeze one, but cotton scents do not belong in the kitchen. It really freaked me out. The new one is lime or something, much better.

School again tomorrow. Feels pointless for an hour, but still. Last day of term too.

Thursday 21 March 2013

Burn

So I just turned my laptop off, switched off my lamp, and took off my glasses. Noticing that I still had a candle burning, I leaned over to blow it out. I'm pretty blind without my glasses, but all I saw in the sudden darkness was a spark of light fly from the wick out of the jar and on to the carpet.

Now I'm scared that its slowly smouldering away, only to burst into flames as soon as I close my eyes.

Obviously I've checked, but still.

School tomorrow, and the first session with a new student. That basically means yet another lesson spent showing my portfolio and threading a machine... Which will be the 5 or 6th time. Kind of gets boring.

Then I have to figure out what to do and how. Sigh. I like it when they're in the middle of a project ... because I don't have to do anything.

Wednesday 20 March 2013

Exhausting

Right. This is how I combat sleep posting. Blogging on my laptop rather than on my iPhone after I have turned the light out and laid down. Because its embarrassing when you can literally see the point at which I fell asleep.

My car is all fixed. They tried to find my water leak too, but couldn't, so I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I'm not totally convinced I have one, but my water does go and if its not coming out outside then it must be leaking on the inside.

Garages are horrible places for women. I hate how I have to take my dad to drive me back, but they direct everything at him because he is the man and therefore knows what they are saying. Not that he helps matters. The guy was talking about his new car and my dad turned to me and said 'Do you know what a Subaru is?' Prick. I glared, said yes, and tried not to say its a car for men with small dicks, because the guy was actually really nice, checking leaks and tyres when he only had to fix the exhaust. It's just such a male dominated environment, and men will use their familiarity to make women feel inferior and themselves look big in front of the other men.

It's times like this that I really want to become a mechanic just so I can shock them all when I'm better at cars than them.

This isn't so much a dig at garages than it is a dig at my father for being a chauvinistic prat. In a garage.

Tuesday 19 March 2013

Dssshh

I literally have nothing to post about today.

My mouth hurts, my ovaries ache, my car is broke and my mother is a zombie. Not the most thrilling of times.

And in sleepy so I'm going to bed. Hopefully my life will be more exciting tomorrow.

EDIT - Ok just found this. I have got to stop sleep blogging.

Monday 18 March 2013

Bruuuummmmm

The Cake Brigade is currently on exactly 5555 views. Its weird that nothing has been posted on there for pretty much exactly 2 years, and it is still getting at least 50 views a month. I guess its from the photos showing up on google images.

I'm back home now, where both internet and phones work perfectly. I was driving home when I think a hole got blown in my exhaust or something, and it started to make the most obnoxious, boy racer overcompensater car noise. I was 20 minutes from home, but stopped anyway and called my dad out. I was so pissed off by the whole thing that I brought two Easter eggs to drown my sorrows in. Cadbury obviously, buttons and caramel. £6, but I don't even care.

So, tomorrow, because my car is out of action for a little while, my dad is going to have to take me to and pick me up from school.

I feel like a 7 year old.

Sunday 17 March 2013

127

Yesterday, I was complaining about how I was somewhere with good Internet but no phone signal. Tonight, I'm somewhere with good phone signal but no Internet. Swings and roundabouts, here in the depths of the countryside.

I'm really sleepy, but my discomfort is making me not able to settle down. I keep thinking I need to go to the toilet.

Watched 127 hours tonight. Finally. It was okay. Not as horrific as I thought, but also not as exciting. Don't get me wrong, it's an inspiring story, but I can't help but feel like it was made into a film purely for the sake of it.

My tooth pain is now also turning into earpain, so that sucks. I have also got to stop typing with my eyes closed.

EDIT - this was written at 2 am, and then I couldn't post it due to afore mentioned lack of internet. So you get it now.

Saturday 16 March 2013

Rainy and Windy

You know what's strange? I have perfect Internet, but pretty much no signal. How is it that Internet waves can reach where phone waves can't? Or whatever technology travels in.

So I'm staying with my sister. I cut the lining of her wedding dress, and decided to fit it to be sure it's all good before I cut the actual main fabrics. I'm feeling pretty confident, so that's good. And it only took me a day, so it's exciting to think that it will only take another day until she has a very unfinished but dress shaped none the less wedding dress.

That's the thing with dress making. The beginning takes ages, the middle is ridiculously fast, and then it takes ages again to finish. It's good though, as soon as things get dress shaped, everything seems like it's nearly done, and all the stress goes.

For a few days at least.

Friday 15 March 2013

To The Beautiful You

Ok, so its been a while since my last review post. A month and a half to be more precise. I think the days of powering through a drama within days has long gone.

So, To the Beautiful You, the third version of Hana Kimi I have seen to date. There is a Taiwanese version too, but I haven't come across that one yet on DramaCrazy's most popular list. It seems really pointless to explain the story, but as a brief reminder, girl likes boy, boy goes too all boys school, girl dresses as boy, boys fall in love with girl. Throw in some sports stuff, and yeah, that pretty much covers it.

 SHOCK!!!

I will happily admit to having to refer to the character for at least the first 6 episodes by their Japanese counterparts names, just so that I could understand who they were, but eventually, I could forget Hana Kimi and concentrate on this as a whole new series. Sano became Tae Joon, Misuki was Jae Hee, and Nakatsu was Eun Geol. Obviously there were heaps more people, but they played a very small part in this version as opposed to the Japanese, especially the other dorms.  I'm not sure how I feel about this, as the difference in the three dorms was such a major part of the previous versions, but you only missed it when you compared them. So, I guess the story didn't need them. Some characters were omitted completely, like the spiritual guy, and some had complete character changes, like the dorm head being a complete womaniser in the Japanese versions to hopelessly in love with one girl who isn't even in the other versions. I guess they had to make it their own.

WHO CAN BRUSH THEIR TEETH THE BEST TO IMPRESS THE GIRL?

I adored Minho, as you may have guessed from previous posts. I knew he was a good actor anyway, but he was really on a par with the professional actors in the series even though he is primarily a singer. The girl from f(x) was okay too, but she did seem just a little too girly to ever be taken seriously as a guy. Other than the odd cameo by EXO and soundtrack by Onew from SHINee, I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of SM artists. Especially Super Junior.

I can't really say much more about it. I knew what was going to happen so there were no surprises. I enjoyed it, and it was different from the other versions. I think I prefer the 2007 Hana Kimi though, but that is probably because it was the first one I saw, and the version all other versions will be measured against.

Next up is Rooftop Prince. This is a drama I have heard the name of a lot, but don't know much about. It sounds a bit like Faith, but man from past comes to the future rather than woman from future goes to the past. I'll let you know how it goes in about 2 months time.

Kleenex do face wipes now

Taken off my make up, turned off my light, and snuggled into my warm bed ... Only to realise that I have yet to post today. Sigh.

Speaking of taking off my make up, since I ran out of my Avon wipes, I've been using Kleenex wipes, the really thick quilted ones that are supposed to be good for taking off make up. I think they'd be great as a normal face wipe, but they are not good at taking off make up. I wake up every morning looking like a panda, and that's after using the whole wipe. I used to be able to get rid of all my eye make up with half a wipe, leaving the other half for the rest of my face. I think the thick quilts make it really hard to be gentle, and instead you're forced to scrub, which is never good, especially over your eyes. It's a shame, but they just don't work for me.

I think I'll go back to Simple.

Thursday 14 March 2013

Oz

Yeah, I know I'm a post behind still, but I don't have enough to say to fill one post at the moment, let alone two. So I'll have to double post another day.

That's me basically saying I did nothing yesterday. Went for a walk in the woods, which I haven't done for ages, but other than that, just stayed in bed watching films.

Much like today, which was equally unproductive due to a bad night of constantly rushing to the loo. Being a girl prone to UTI's sucks.

I managed to spruce myself up to go to the cinema this evening though. We saw The Great and Powerful Oz or whatever the Disney Wizard of Oz prequel is called. It was ok. I facepalmed at the cheesiness of wicked witch number 2's cackle, and found Glinda's one random strand of hair somewhat distracting. I enjoyed how Wicked witch number 1 had the emperors lightening power, although it was green, which is a good Jedi colour so that's confusing. It genuinely took me about half an hour after they had walked through a town made of teapots, cups and saucers to realise that China Town wasn't Oz's Asian quarter. I loved the nod to the original in the first section, with the square framing and black and white picture. Overall, it was ok, just a bit too Disney.

I should be asleep.

Fabric Update

Wow, I have not being good at remembering to post lately. Sorry.

So finally, all the wedding dress fabric is ordered and hopefully on its way! Ended up spending nearly £400 on the lace alone, which is ridiculous but necessary. It's what you'll see when you look at the dress, so it's more important to get that right than anything else.

So now I just have to redraft the pattern once more and then get started. I'm literally going to work until its done as soon as the fabric has arrived.

Exciting times!

Monday 11 March 2013

C-c-c-c-cold

Ah crap. Forgot to post last night.

So I'm here at school, blogging when my lesson should have started 15 minutes ago. It's kind of hard to teach when your student isn't here yet though.

Today is one of those days that is deceptively cold, because even though there is a thin layer of snow or a thick layer of frost covering the ground, the sun is shining and everything looks really spring like. And then you walk outside or into this classroom and freeze. I'm huddled up next to the halogen heater, but these things are crap, I don't see the point of them. They are only warm when your right in front of them, which means that you can't leave them. It's very unproductive.

I'm going to leave this post short and sweet. So I can do some work. Not so that I can hug the heater.

Sunday 10 March 2013

Considerably less stressed

I was genuinely going to post earlier about how my current candle is so low, that I can only light one wick, and then have to tilt the candle so that the flame lights the other one. Then I realised how boring that would be so didn't.

Oh wait ....

Went fabric shopping today. Brought some tulle. The one that we had originally wanted was silk, soft, beautiful and cost over £35 a metre. Bearing in mind I need a bare minimum of 10 metres, you can probably see why I have been freaking out so much lately. But anyway, I found some polyester, not so soft and not so beautiful tulle in town that cost £3.99 a metre, which is considerably more affordable. To be honest, it's probably only me that would be able to tell the difference. It's still soft, and the same density and colour, and at that price I could get the preferred 15 metres .... but it does feel like polyester.

So things are finally moving. I have the tulle and lining, and Jo has promised to decide on the satin on Sunday to order them on Monday. The bridesmaids are on the back burner at the moment. We're weighing up our options, as we've struggled to find the colours and at the moment are looking at £150 minimum per dress. Which is ridiculous. But it's not like the bridesmaids are important. We can wear brought dresses if its cheaper.

As long as the bride gets what she wants, nothing else matters really. I'm just so relieved to finally have the ball rolling.

Saturday 9 March 2013

4,8,15,16,23,42

I was just perusing 9gag, as I do about 600 times a day, and saw a photo of an amazing set of waterfalls in china. Maybe I'll post the photo in edit tomorrow.

It got me thinking. There are so many amazing places that I want to see, and yet, how the hell am I supposed to do that? I need to win the lottery, pay off debts and for my sisters wedding, and go exploring.

I've been having a series of panic attacks over my sisters wedding for the past few days. It's just turning out to be so expensive, and we have a real geographical complication. I just want to get started, this waiting around is making me so anxious.

I'm running out of time and it's freaking me out.

Friday 8 March 2013

Miss Runi

I had just turned my laptop off, when I realised I needed it to be able to post tonight. Sigh.

I wanted to share a video with you, which is something I can't do via iPhone. So you get a shitty link instead. Maybe an embedded video in edit tomorrow.

http://youtu.be/q9-8YQKj1hk

Oh look, an embedded video edited in the next day.

It's a dance practice video. Teen Top with their new song.

It just fun. A little like a previous dance practice video they did where they just screamed and shouted randomly.

I laughed.

On a side note, I've got to stop titling my posts with my eyes shut.

Thursday 7 March 2013

Cloud Atlas

Went to see Cloud Atlas today.

I expected to be super confused, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't hard to understand. Sometimes more literally than others. But it kept you engrossed all the way through, and blew you away when you realised who was under some of the make up. In fact, most of the cast were virtually unrecognisable throughout most of the film.

I don't know whether I'm just out of touch, but I'm kind of shocked that this film hasn't had more fuss made of it over here. It has an all star cast and literally has a plot for every genre ... You couldn't get closer to there being something for everyone, from comedy to history, sci fi to politics.

It was showing once a day at my local cinema, at the less than prime time of 12.30, and after friday, the showings cease altogether.

Yes, it's long. Very long. Yes, it's confusing. But it's a beautiful film.

It's a tragedy that it seems to have been so overlooked.

Wednesday 6 March 2013

Nope

I just remembered that I haven't posted yet today.

But ... I'm kinda tired and lazy, and what with my Internet being down again (effing HomeHub) I can't even be bothered to find a picture to entertain you.

Sorry.

Tuesday 5 March 2013

FINAL SUPER SHOW

This morning, as I was procratinating from getting up even though I had to leave in 20 minutes, I saw this post from SMTOWN on Super Junior's facebook.

The final.

THE FINAL.

Literally my heart stopped ... and then broke.

WHY??

I mean, I know they are a male group in a country where all men have to serve two years of miltary service, but they've always had plans to stagger enlistment so that Super Junior can carry on. Kangin is already back, Heechul is over half way through, and Leeteuk enlisted last year. Kyuhyun is expempt because he nearly died in the crash, as are Henry and Zhou Mi because they aren't Korean, which would also count for Hangeng if he hadn't run off. With eternal maknae Ryeowook being 25, so 26 in Korean years, they still have four years left to send off the other 8 members. Not that Kibum would make much difference these days.

Anyhoodledoodle, later, they reposted with new wording.

Final registration ...

I have no idea what that means, or what the hell this global package is, but as long as Super Junior are still active, then I'm happy.

SS5LONDON PLEASE.

Of Money I Earn But Don't Get and Money I Get But Don't Earn

Wah, this is getting silly.

Tokyo Dogs is fast becoming my most viewed post. It's had 414 views in the past month, and about 45 comments. Not that it's done me any good other than making my view count rise. I haven't even made any thing significantly more on my AdSense.

Well, I'm at £3.44. Only £56.56 left until I get paid!

I did a little spring cleaning today, and used Flash's mediterranean lemon wipes so now my room smells nice and fresh. Still need to sort out my wardrobe though. I think I might throw out my Empire magazines. I have every issue from March 2002 to 2008 but whats the point in keeping them, really? That's a whole shelf I could use for something else. Like bags and belts.

School in the morning, and once again I'm wide awake at quarter past one in the morning. I did spend some time today though prepping for a new project with one of my students. I'm going to make her write a brief and make a mood board and everything. I feel like a proper teacher at times like this.

Normally, I feel like a normal person that gets paid to chat.

Sunday 3 March 2013

Sprung

It's starting to feel a lot like spring.

Today, I went out without a coat. I regretted it immensely as soon as the sun went down, especially when I saw FROST, but for half an hour in the afternoon, it was sunny and warm and I was quite content in just a cardigan.

Next step, daffodils.

Oh, and I should probably spring clean ... I haven't sorted out the stuff from Xmas yet. I've got Santa staring at me at the end of my bed, peeping out of the card box.

Saturday 2 March 2013

Dinolemon

It's quarter to 4 in the morning. I should be asleep.

Because I am not, here are some things that amuse me.

Dinosaurs and lemons, what more could you want?

Friday 1 March 2013

tb;dr

You know what I hate? How SHINee's Japanese releases aren't controlled by SM. I miss stuff. This makes me sad.

To the Beautiful You is getting good now. I think it's more that I have finally stopped seeing it as Hana Kimi. Still in love with Minho, and I'm cheering more for Tae Joon than I ever did for Sano.

There was a film crew in Lapworth today, by the National Trust houses. I have no idea what for. I only saw the unit signs: 'L&M'.

I literally have nothing else to tell you. My life is boring.

It's March now.
