Petrol should be free

Technically, its the last day of February. That is ridiculous. It's March tomorrow. MARCH.

March has always been a bit of an anti Heather month. My Dad's birthday, followed by my sister's, and then Mother's Day. Add on to that a friend's birthday, and we have a busy month. And expensive. Basically, I have to do a lot of present buying in March.

I was totaling up my accounts for the month, and as predicted, February has not been as fruitful as January. Rent and loans etc, but mostly I blame driving to London quite a lot. Petrol cost me over £150 this month ... as opposed to less than £60 last month.

Lesson learned.

I need to fill up now, my light has been on for a few days, but I figure I'll wait until next month, just so my earnings stay positive.

Material Girl

Sometimes, I just plain forget to post before I go to sleep, and it's half way through the next day before I remember.

I didn't watch Coyote Ugly yesterday. I was too busy procrastinating from doing another toile of my sisters wedding dress by doing housework, and then it was Vampire Diaries. It's not like I need to rush to do toile, I can't even order fabrics until my sister comes up next weekend, so I still have a full week. I'm just planning in my head before I turn it to paper and fabric. That's sensible, right?

In other news, got some new samples through and I think that one or two of them might be perfect. Especially as they are less than £10 a metre, which is a very pleasant change from everything being more than £70 a metre. Still looking at two types of lace, each at nearly £100 a metre though. Sigh.

Nostrils

Right after I posted last night, I tried to sleep. Instead of getting annoyed by the sound of my own breathing again, I instead became very aware of my nostrils. How heavy they are, how they obstruct my nose when I'm lying on my side. Gravity.

Sometimes I think too much. Mostly when trying to sleep or in the shower. It's a problem.

Back to school tomorrow. When I was a kid, half term holidays seemed to go by so quick, but this week seems to have taken ages to pass. I think it's probably a mix of it being my mum's bad week and not being able to progress much on my sister's wedding dress, so a mix of being stuck in the house and a lack of productivity. As soon as we get all the fabrics, I am so going to blitz it.

Insominho

I haven't been doing well at getting to sleep at sociable times lately. Last night, I was lying in bed wide awake getting really annoyed by the sound of my breathing at 4 am, so thats always good. Hopefully, things will be more peaceful tonight.

Still getting a load of random spam comments on my Tokyo Dogs post. If nothing else, it's boosting my page views. I was on 16161 a few seconds ago, so that's crazy. Especially as so many people are finding my posts to be full of 'such valuable information'.

What with SHINee's new album and watching 'To The Beautiful You', I'm finding myself with a small case of Minho fever. Sure he was born in the 90's, but he's pretty and kind and sweet and all sorts of good things. Proof: I've watched him in Yunhanam and Hello Baby.

And he's tall.

For some unknown reason, my Tokyo Dogs post has been getting a lot of attention today.

I get spam comments every now and again, and normally, blogger removes them before I get to see them. But 8 in one day? On a post that is nearly 2 years old and about a Japanese TV series? So weird.

They're not exactly subtle at being spam either. I liked the one that said that the last part included extremely helpful information. The last part was me fangirling over SHINee. Hardly information or helpful, even if they were seeking this certain information for a very long time.

So this is 'Dream Girl'. It's a good song, but I'm not so instantly hooked as I was with 'Lucifer' or 'Sherlock'. I do like the video though. And how Minho gets to do more than dance and rap.

Taemin is so grown up now.

Brides. Brides Everywhere.

In some ways, it feels really pointless to recount today when I spent it with the only person that I know that reads this blog, and yet my pageviews tell me that others read this too, and at any rate, it's my diary.

Wedding dress shopping when you've barely started the dress your supposed to be working on first is somewhat strange. My sisters wedding feels really scarily close now. Though it's always good to be able to get ideas in your head as soon as possible, and now I feel a little more confident in the time scale I have planned for the next year and a couple of months, so that's always good. Things are going to be busy.

SHINee released their new music video this morning. I had it on repeat before I left the house, but I think I'll leave talking about it anymore until tomorrow.

Accountant

I woke up this morning at the normal time I wake up on a Monday morning ... the only difference was that today, it wasn't an alarm that wakened me as I didn't have to go to school. So that was weird.

Anyway, I stubbornly stayed in bed until about half 10, until I could no longer bear the pain of my bleeding uterus (what, why would I sugar coat it? Periods suck.) and helped my mum pack up the latest lot of eBay sales. They've definitley calmed down somewhat, probably because this is all stuff that has been up almost continuously for the past month and a half, but still. I'm still selling at least half a dozen items each time, if not more. I'm starting to worry eBay might get on my back soon about selling so much.

So, for some reason, I decided to account for all of my income and expenditure since the new year. I started on word, with a table, and then I thought 'no, I will do this professionally' and opened up excel for probably the first time since I was 11. A quick google later, and I started filling it in.

Now, I have sheets for every method in which I make or spend money, including a summary page with my net earnings. If I keep it up as I go, filling it in and filing receipts in my swanky file case, it should be pretty easy to keep track of everything. I'm proud of myself, it's awesome.

January was a surprisingly good month. February, so far, seems expensive. Probably because January got me out of the shit and then I had to start paying things like loan repayments and rent again. Sigh.

Also because February is a short month, half term, and I've been doing a lot of travelling, but still.

Bad Granddaughter

Went to see my nan today ... For the first time this year.

So that was overdue.

She asked me what I do for money, so I told her about eBay and school, and her response was like I had told her I make a penny a year. I understand that to her, anything but a 9-5 office job isn't a job, but still, it's like she just doesn't expect me to be able to do anything well or worthwhile. Sigh.

It's half term this week. So what with no school, and still no decisions made on the wedding fabrics, this means I have a whole week of not much to do. Perfect timing for someone to make the effort to see me for a change ... or not.

Yawn

Ooof ... another batch of catch up posts done. Worry not, I don't think I'll need to do another batch for a while.

Seeing as I went to be quite early last night, got up late, and haven't exactly done much today, I'm absolutely shattered.

Back home now as the shoot only took a day and he wanted to get straight onto the edit. Which is fine, I totally get it. Does it mean that I wasn't gutted at leaving on Saturday rather than Monday? No.

Saw Dredd today. It was pretty good. Bit gruesome in places, but it didn't feel real enough to be too shocking.

Ok going to sleep before I start sleep posting again.

Pandamonium

You know what I realised? As I was driving to set with a car full of set dressing, camera and lighting equipment and a DOP/Director in the front seat?

I bet that I was totally brought on to this production because I have a car rather than for my actual skills. Sigh.

Still, it was good fun. Only two new people in a really small cast and crew, so it was all quite light hearted and laid back. Which almost made up for the somewhat horrific drive there and back. I really hate city driving.

It's going to be uploaded on YouTube as a web series, so I'll probably link it when it's up on Twitter. Nothing exciting costume wise, in that it was just normal clothes, but still, work is work (even if you don't get paid).

Valentine

So across the world, couples everywhere were celebrating their mutual affection for each other .... Flowers, chocolates, posh meals at fancy restaurants, quiet but romantic nights in, going to the cinema, seeing a show ... All sorts of extra special dates planned.

I went to a garden centre, B&Q and Sainsburies.

I think he was a little concerned that we didn't have anything special planned, especially with people being in his ear about it, but I didn't expect anything special. To be honest, I think it would have freaked me out a little. And anyway. It was fun to wind him up about it.

Lemon

It's Valentines day tomorrow.

I've never had a Valentines day before ... well, not one where I'm seeing a boy at any rate. Not that it makes any difference.

To be honest, as much as all the fuss is kind of annoying anyway, and always has been, I just can't help thinking in the shadowy but girly corner of my mind that likes things like chick flicks, that flowers, chocolates and being spoiled rotten would be kind of nice. Not that I'm not looking forward to what we do have planned, its just that its the same as every night. Pizza, DVD's and ... um ... other stuff.

I was just doing my normal pre-seeing-him beauty routine, and in amongst the feeling clean and fresh and happy, I also felt the usual annoyance that guys don't have to go through any of this. Shaving, make up, styling, sexy underwear ... none of it is easy, quick, or particularly comfortable. They don't have to shave or put on make up, and their underwear is ridiculously comfortable. It's not fair.

Urgh why am I so bitter?

Ooops

Ummm ... Yeah. So I might have fallen asleep before I could post last night.

In my defence, my tummy was warm and full of lots of pancakes. I'd also spent too much time sat gossiping in my car on my friends drive.

During our pancake party last night, we watched a programme about a woman who's face got eaten by a chimpanzee. Like her whole face. It was pretty horrific. But then they gave her a face transplant, which was so amazing.

Fact of the day. Pistachios combust when stored in large numbers. This amused us greatly.

Nice outfits, SHINee.

I mean ... just ... yeah. 

So, SHINee are just about to release a new album, and like with Sherlock, have been releasing teasers of all the members.

Some are weird.

Well, apart from Jonghyun's, all of his seem relatively normal. Maybe it's just him though, I mean just look, even sitting on cotton wool with a star hanging out his mouth, he looks completely natural.

At least they all have clothes on this time. That was just awkward.

Why I shouldn't watch food shows late at night

I was just watching Simon and Martina's Food Adventure Programme For Awesome People, and now I have a very strong urge for Yasai Katsu Curry from Wagamamas. I haven't craved Wagamama's for ages.

I find myself watching FAPFAPs pretty regularly. Mostly at night when I can't sleep. Which is weird when so many of them are very meat orientated, because these videos are about Korean cuisine and vegetarian isn't really in their vocabulary. They just make everything look so delicious, I'm pretty sure if I ever went to Korea I'd try everything, regardless of whether it's full of meat or not.

Having said that, my aunt told me a story about when she was in Hong Kong and had samgyeopsal, and got tape worms. Moral of the story, only eat Korean food in Korea.
